Vichan, together with some other staff from our resort, Jay, Mike, Rabi, Pi Chai, Vichien & Jack (I'm not too sure who else came along to help save lives) had jumped on-board our speed boat and headed out to the site.
Black smoke was seen from the distance but it was only when they received a rescue alert that they realized a ferry was on fire! I'm so so so so very proud of our boys as they reacted with compassion, humanity and bravery. Believe it or not, they were the only ones out there helping people...
They pulled out victims from the sea and had also witness death right in front of their eyes. This accident has left them shocked, deeply affected and in despair and disbelief for days.
What we still ask ourselves is :
"WHY DIDN'T ANYBODY ELSE COME TO THE RESCUE???!!"
